Paramotor

It's a paraglider with a motor

What is a paramotor?

Paramotoring is the ultimate flying experience for thrill seekers and aerial freedom seekers. This exciting activity comes in two main types: paramotoring on legs and paramotoring with a trolley. Each offers a unique way to soar through the air, and there is something for everyone!

Paramotor on Feet: The paramotor on feet is the classic option for those looking for a more physical approach to flight. With a lightweight wing, motor and propeller attached to your back, you launch yourself into the air, taking a run to take off. It's you, the wing and the sky, offering a direct and immersive experience.

Chariot Paramotoring: The chariot paramotor, on the other hand, combines the freedom of paramotor flight with the comfort and stability of a motorized chariot. This lightweight chariot, equipped with wheels, allows you to take off and land effortlessly, simply by rolling on a clear runway. It is an accessible and comfortable way to discover the sky, especially for those who prefer not to run to take off.

How much does a paramotor cost?

The price of a paramotor can vary quite a bit depending on several factors:

  • Type of paramotor: There are different models of paramotors, from basic to high-tech, on legs and with trolley. High-end trolleys can be more expensive because of their luxury options.

  • Engine: The type of engine, its power, and its reliability can influence the price. Higher quality engines are often more expensive.

  • Accessories: Don't forget accessories like flight instruments, safety equipment, and spare parts.

  • Training: Training to become a paramotor pilot also has a cost. This is super important to fly safely.

Basically, expect to pay between 15,000 and 40,000 CAD for a complete paramotor kit, including the wing, the engine, and the trolley, if you choose one. For training, expect between 4,000 and 5,000 CAD , depending on where you are going.

How long does it take to become a paramotor pilot?

The time it takes to become a real paramotor pilot depends on you and your learning pace:

  • Ground School: It starts with ground school where you learn the basics of weather, air navigation, and paramotoring. It usually lasts a few days to a week.

  • Flight training: Next, you move on to flight training, where you learn to fly the paramotor under the watchful eye of a professional instructor. This phase can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, depending on your pace.

  • Getting your license: Once you have acquired the necessary skills, you take a practical and theoretical exam to obtain your paramotor pilot license. It can vary, but most students can fly solo within a few months.

Safety first in paramotoring, so you really need to follow complete training before taking the controls solo.

Paramotoring offers you an extraordinary aerial adventure, accessible to almost everyone. If you dream of flying and are looking for a simple, safe and super fun flying experience, paramotoring could well be your new passion.
