The MicroAvionics Powered Radio Interface is a powerful and versatile solution for voice communication in noisy environments. Audio and microphone gain levels can be configured to match any cell phone or radio connection, and five LED monitors indicate power, transmit, receive, and headset battery status. Two radios can be connected at once, plus a stereo music input and a cell phone audio connection. An auxiliary control output activates an LED indicator on the dashboard to signal that the radio is in use. Finally, a 3mA current draw per headset allows up to two headsets to be connected simultaneously while charging their batteries. All necessary components come pre-configured and ready to plug in, giving you a worry-free solution for airband radio communication.
Description
Not just a simple radio interface. We use the latest electronic technology to enable us to produce an efficient powered radio interface, with very low power consumption, typically only 6mA, and all the features a pilot would need. The user can change various selectable features that reconfigure the radio type (i.e. from type "B" [Icom A3] to type "BB" [Icom A6]) etc., control intercom volume levels, mute audio levels etc.
The voice reproduction through the intercom unit is very clear and optimized for noisy environments. The connection to the mobile phone is just as clear. The audio and microphone gain levels can be configured depending on the phone or second radio you connect.
Fully specified with five LED status monitors indicating power, TX, RX and headset batteries charged. Connect an airband radio (panel mount or handheld), and for chatting with your flight group, a second PMR type radio can be connected at the same time. Mobile phone connection is a standard feature (cable is an optional accessory, MM011). Dual audio/music inputs and a separate audio output for recording. Dual PTT inputs, when P1 transmits on the mic, P2 will be muted and vice versa. User selectable 10v (Icom A6 etc) or 12 volt (Icom A3 etc) output to power the radio. User adjustable maximum intercom volume level and adjustable maximum mic transmit level. Music, second radio, mobile phone will automatically mute once the main radio receives an incoming signal. Auxiliary control output for dual-color LED on the dashboard indicating RX and TX (optional accessory). The interface comes pre-configured and ready to plug in. The interface incorporates a battery monitor that activates the battery charging circuit when the headsets are fully charged, extending the life of the headset batteries. A beep will sound when the PTT switch is first pressed to indicate radio transmission. Our equipment can be connected to a Lynx Micro System or vice versa.
* The interface will not supply voltage to Icom A25.
